Rate of existing home sales fastest in 2 years
The National Association of Realtors reported sales of existing homes jumped 7.2 percent to an annual rate of 5.24 million units. This represents the highest total since Aug. 2007 and greatly exceeding economist expectations for a 5 million unit pace. Sales were at a 4.89 million pace in June.
